I never thought I had it in me to write something so devastatingly sad, but William Stewart’s powerful performance on the violin makes this song even more poignantly magical. When i heard his album, Songs of War, I knew he was the one to perform lead violins for this song. Dante’s Lament is only the third song I ever wrote in my life, but the one that convinced me I should put all my free time into creating music. It’s one of my favorites to this day.
